Thousands of adidas shoes awarded to Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People's Education

The success of every endeavor generally manifests itself in its seismic impact whether enormous or minute. The response to the adidas Wanted Old Shoes promo could be called a seismic convulsion.

adidas Wanted Old Shoes (WOS) Promotion generated an influx of inquiries all over the archipelago, galvanizing adidas users to bring in their old sports shoes but still functional and in decent condition to over 100 participating adidas stores nationwide in exchange of as much as P1,000 off for the next purchase of any adidas shoes. And most important, donating their old pair to Pamulaan, the only educational institution of its kind dedicated to the indigenous peoples in the Philippines.

Thousands of shoes awarded to Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People’s Education

It was fine day of June 19, when thousands of shoes awarded to the indigenous peoples of Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People’s Education via a ceremonial turnover held at the University of Southeastern Philippines at Mintal, Davao City.

Led by country Manager Mr Nolet Puno of adidas Philippines turned over the shoes to Pamulaan. These shoes will in turn be distributed by Pamulaan to its students and other indigenous peoples from a number of tribes all over the country like Aetas, Lumads, Kabihugs and Mangyans.

Mr. Puno was joined by other adidas officials and celebrity endorsers namely cagers Enrico Villanueva and Peter Jun Simon of Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants, VJ/DJ Drei Felix of MYX and Jam 88.3, and actor/ dancer Rayver Cruz.

The event was hosted by Drei Felix alongside Pamulaan student Jenelyn Demagejes from the Teburay Tribe of Blensong, Upi, Maguindanao. A performance from the Pamulaan all-student band called Babanam opened the program.

Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People’s Education students and faculty, led by President and founder Benjamin Abadiano, warmly welcomed adidas and gratefully accepted the shoes. The last and final part of the event was the performance of traditional dances of 31 tribes as their ritual to express gratitude to cap the event.

It was a memorable experience with my fellow bloggers Chattee Lara , Ria Jose, Blogie Robillo, Rhodilee and James Historia.

Special mention: Patrick Laroco of Primetime Creatives for inviting us. ‘Til next time!
