Camp Holiday Resort Samal

Last weekend, I really enjoyed a 2-day and a night of fun and bonding with my 123Employee Aussie teammates and new friends at Camp Holiday Resort, Island Garden City of Samal.

The team actually planned the get together with 123employee co-agents/ welcome party for new Australian account agents/ my farewell/ Martin’s post birthday celebration and team building for one month and it has finally come and I bet not everybody got excited for that long awaited break. From 25, only 7 attended. Disgusting!

Assuming that low turnout is a reflection of disenchantment or indifference, who would not want to put some extra “life” in our busy lives, right? But actually, it is not just a mere break and fun, it is more likely building good relationships with the whole team. That’s why it is called “Team Building”. Enough said.

Moving on, it was past 2pm last Saturday when Jey Gee, Cyrus, Elea, Mel Brian and I arrived at the paradise of Camp Holiday located next the ferry terminal in Babak, Island Garden City of Samal. We rode a Ferry boat from Sasa Wharf, it is a 15 minute trip. Leonard and Wheng arrived after 30 minutes.

Entrance fee is P80 per head, and overnight rates are P200 per person. The fees already include free use of the swimming pool, open cottages, nipa huts, and seaside veranda.

We enjoyed taking pictures and amazed with the beauty of the place. Camp Holiday Resort has a two storey hotel, which has different air conditioned cabins that can accommodate numerous guests.

Feel free to choose from their 22 hotel rooms that cost around P1,500 per night or in their air-conditioned cottages for P1,800 only. Both hotel rooms and cottages are fully equipped of needed amenities including an air conditioner, Cable TV and hot and cold shower. WiFi is available in the lobby but not the rooms. The resort has swimming pool for kids about 4-feet, billiard hall, a restaurant, an open cottages for free but for first come first serve basis, air conditioned function hall up to 600 people capacity, tent rentals are also available, camping ground for campers and of course the beach that you would truly enjoyed. It was homey, nice and certainly conducive for family gatherings, outings and of course, teambuilding.

We had our meal at around 5pm with different foods on the table like Bam-i, Bam-i, Bam-i, pork chop, pork chop and pork chop. Ha ha! Thanks to the “Indian people” for that! Lol. Anyway, we ate our meal with some chit chats and laughs. That was a very ordinary scene but seems a little unusual since everybody were bonded as one – sharing foods, sharing jokes, sharing smiles and sharing laughs.

The fun time was made even enjoyable with the crystal clear blue water of the beach plus the white sand. we had time to dip in the water, sung our lungs out and drank our selves(is that right?) and even relax a bit in the shade. It was indeed a remarkable captured moment – something to be treasured forever. Suffice it to say, everybody had fun and we’re looking forward to another moment like this. Hmmnn…truly a series of serious outing right?

And of course, after expending all that energy, some wrapped up the day with another meal before heading back, the better part of exhausted, to each of our homes, for a hot shower and bed.

More pictures, don’t forget to check ‘em out here.
