I finally got back here in Iloilo from my trip to the quiet, beautiful island of Guimaras; Isla Miguel and the amazing crocodile island.
I’ve never been to Guimaras till then, but because much has been written about it as as one of the country’s emerging top tourist destinations, I’ve heard enough about it to be familiar with what to do in the island in a span of two days.
Located southwest of Panay, Guimaras is separated physically from Iloilo by a narrow channel, which takes about fifteen minutes to cross by pumpboat from the Ortiz landing on Iloilo to Jordan. There is other way to get there, the Parola wharf in Iloilo which is used exclusively whenever the water is rough. From Jordan, you can take a jeep. You can wait for the jeep to fill with passengers or you can arrange a “special” jeep trip to your destination. The driver will take you to the beach and pick you up at a specified time.
Guimaras is a pristine island with breathtaking sceneries and enjoying the best mango fruit which attracts a lot of foreign and local tourist all year round. Clear blue waters, white sand and marine life rivals that of Boracay.
I didn’t have a good time. I had a great time! I was lucky to be able to see beautiful beaches, but I also got to know a lot of people and I made new friends there. My companions on this trip were also a great factor for making this one of my most unforgettable roadtrips. I am still on a high after the trip to Guimaras! I’m definitely going back. And maybe bring a skim board with me perhaps?
I can’t wait to share all the things I went through on those 2 amazing days. The photos published here are my favorite picks.
